I have been coaching for 2 years and have used your advise and tips and drills and I now have a team of 9 year olds who look out for each other and do all the little . If you act like a drill sergeant when coaching a bunch of 10 year olds, the kid will get a negative image of basketball and have negative emotional feelings when thinking of basketball. Kids will also get sick of basketball if they play TOO many games each year. Coaching 8- to year-olds can be frustrating, especially as they can be clumsy and uncoordinated. Instead of focusing on winning games, encourage good form as they learn to shoot, pass and dribble. As they grow older, they will remember the basics, and become more competent and proficient players.
